Some days just feel extra special!
This week we hosted a picnic for one of our clients at Mission Beach in San Diego, and everything about it felt aligned. It was one of those classic San Diego afternoons. Warm sun, soft breeze, the ocean sparkling in the background. The kind of day that reminds you why Mission Beach is such a beautiful place to slow down and celebrate.
When I met them, they looked amazing! Truly. The kind of couple that just glows together. We met them about 200 feet away from their picnic at Mission Beach, showed them everything from afar, and then they walked hand in hand toward it, enjoying the moment privately. That part always feels important to us. We create the space, and then the experience becomes fully theirs.
They added our paint and sip experience, a floral arrangement, and a 2-person charcuterie grazing board. It felt thoughtful and relaxed. Later, hearing that they spent the afternoon painting side by side, sharing food, talking, and soaking in the Mission Beach sunset made my heart so happy.
And then we found out they got engaged! We could not have been happier for them!
As a husband-and-wife team behind A & J Colectivo, moments like this mean everything. We know what it feels like to choose your person and step into a new chapter. To know that their engagement happened during a picnic we hosted in San Diego feels incredibly special.
There is something about a beach picnic in San Diego that creates space for connection. No distractions. Just the ocean, the breeze, and the person in front of you. The perfect place for a picnic proposal!
To our sweet newly engaged couple, thank you for trusting us with your day. We are cheering you on as you begin this next chapter together!
It wasn’t just a picnic in San Diego. It was the beginning of forever!

Valentine’s weekend marked a major milestone for A&J Colectivo. From February 13 through February 15, we experienced our first truly busy holiday weekend as a growing San Diego luxury picnic business, and it was filled with gratitude, excitement, and so much love in the air. From romantic sunset picnics to a scenic brunch picnic, we had the honor of creating four curated outdoor experiences across some of San Diego’s most beautiful parks. To celebrate the occasion, we proudly wore our pink branded Valentine’s shirts while setting up each event, embracing both the season and this meaningful moment in our journey.
We began on Friday, February 13 with a romantic sunset picnic with the paint and sip add on at Sunset Point Park. Watching the sun dip below the horizon while knowing this was the start of our first big holiday weekend felt incredibly special. The peaceful coastal setting paired perfectly with our luxury picnic setup, creating an intimate space for connection and celebration. It was a reminder of why we started A&J Colectivo: to bring people together through thoughtfully designed outdoor experiences.
Saturday, February 14 brought a shift in energy with a bright Valentine’s brunch picnic at Kate Sessions Park. Overlooking the city, this daytime luxury picnic allowed guests to relax and enjoy pastries, juice, and quality time in a scenic setting. Later that evening, we headed to Fanuel Park for another romantic sunset picnic. The calm bay views and soft evening light created a warm atmosphere that truly reflected the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Everywhere we went, there was a sense of joy and closeness that reminded us how meaningful these moments are.
We wrapped up the weekend on Sunday, February 15 with one final sunset picnic at Kate Sessions Park. By this point, we were tired but incredibly happy. As we completed our last setup of the weekend, we reflected on how far A&J Colectivo has come and how grateful we felt to be trusted with such special occasions. The sunset that evening felt like the perfect closing to our first major Valentine’s weekend.
This was more than just a series of San Diego picnic setups. It was our first time experiencing the full energy of a holiday weekend as a business, and we could truly feel the love in the air at every location. From Sunset Point Park to Kate Sessions and Fanuel Park, each picnic reminded us that our mission is not just about creating beautiful setups, but about creating space for connection.
Our first big Valentine’s weekend will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we are so excited for all the moments still to come.
